The JavaTutor project was led by an interdisciplinary research and development team at North Carolina State University. PI James Lester (Distinguished Professor of Computer Science) specializes in technology-rich learning with intelligent tutoring systems, natural language processing, affective computing, and virtual agents. Co-PI Kristy Boyer (Assistant Professor, Computer Science) specializes in computer science education research and intelligent tutoring systems. Co-PI Bradford Mott (Senior Research Scientist, Center for Educational Informatics) focuses on designing and developing intelligent learning environments. Co-PI Eric Wiebe (Professor, STEM Education) specializes in science education research as well as curriculum design for computing.
